Meet the Sellgren Financial Group

James Sellgren Managing Director - Investments
Relying on my wealth of experience in my role as an advisor, I am truly committed to providing my clients with the highest level of professionalism and service.
I began my career in the mid 1970s as a teacher of Mathematics. A decade later, I had earned a Masters Degree in Education and then a Masters of Business Administration in finance as I switched careers. I have been with Wachovia Securities since 1991 and I have been a Managing Director-Investment Officer since 2002.
I live in Hagerstown, I have two adult children, and I am active in the community. I enjoy playing golf, racquetball and ice hockey - although I think the clock is ticking on this one. My hobbies include photography, piano, riding my motorcycle, and working crossword and Sudoku puzzles.
With clients in twenty-eight states, I also enjoy the times when I am able to travel and combine business with pleasure. I feel fortunate to be in a business that allows me to serve a base of clients who share a similar investment philosophy.

I am a registered associate and I enjoy every moment of client contact and the detailed effort that goes along with providing the service that each client deserves. When we get the chance, my husband Denny and I enjoy driving off to our place at Smith Mountain Lake for fishing and boating.
